    The staff are caring and friendly . The surgeon Dr Peter Martin , who repaired my acute hernia is highly qualified , long experienced , reassuring and competent . The anaesthetist Dr Andrew Hart is highly qualified , competent , and experienced . Everyone who helped and attended to my needs were cheerful and dedicated and professional . The improvement to my quality of life has been enormous . We are lucky to have such a well run , clean and well equipped hospital available to us here in the Hunter Region .

    I am at present STILL waiting for my husband whom I said good luck to at 1:30pm today. It is now 9:17pm. No staff member has kept me up to date on him, offered me anything incl a drink or the likes. I am disgusted & disappointed, especially when my family received the total opposite from Gold Coast University Hospital when I had unexpected surgery. Public or private ... I say PUBLIC FOR SURE!
